Launching tests
Launching Your First Test
Learn how to create and launch A/B tests using the Keak Chrome extension.
Overview
We've tried making the process of launching a test on Keak as simple as possible. To get started, simply open the extension on your website and choose between these two options:
- Manual select elements where you want to generate a variation
- Run a full page scan and let Keak suggest variations on multiple elements
Manual Selection
For the manual option, simply click on the element you want to generate a variation for and then click on "Ask Keak to generate a variation" in the extension. After a couple seconds you will see your variation get applied to the page directly and replace the original.
If you're unhappy with the variation you got back from Keak you can always generate a new one by clicking on the "Try another variant" button inside the extension.
Once you're happy with your variation and ready to launch your test, click on the "Launch test" button.
Conversion Tracking Options
You'll then be shown 3 conversion tracking options:
Page View Test
Page view tests fire conversion events when your visitors visit pages you specify (website.com/thankyou for example). This is the best option if you want to track conversions that happen a couple pages down your funnel.
Best for:
- Thank you pages
- Checkout confirmation
- Sign-up success pages
- Multi-step funnel tracking
Click-Based Test
This option will enable you to track button clicks on the page where you're running a test. You will be able to include as many buttons as you like.
Best for:
- CTA button optimization
- Navigation link testing
- Form submission buttons
- Download buttons
Shopify Test
Shopify tests enable you to track purchases and their value through Keak. This is only available for Shopify websites.
Best for:
- Product page optimization
- Cart and checkout improvements
- Revenue impact measurement
- E-commerce A/B testing
Full-Page Scan
Keak can scan your full page and propose variations for multiple elements. We'll use our fine-tuned models to determine which elements should be modified and then automatically come up with variations. You can approve and deny any suggested variation by either clicking the "Next" or "Skip" button in the extension.
The scan typically finds:
- Headlines and subheadings
- Call-to-action buttons
- Value propositions
- Key copy elements
After Scanning
Similarly to manual tests, you'll then be shown 3 conversion tracking options:
- Page View Test: Track visits to specific URLs
- Click-Based Test: Track button/link clicks
- Shopify Test: Track purchases and revenue (Shopify only)
