Installing the Keak Extension

Learn how to install and set up the Keak Chrome extension to start creating A/B tests.

Chrome Extension Installation

The Keak Chrome extension is your visual editor for creating A/B tests. It allows you to modify any element on your website without writing code.

Installation Steps

1. Visit the Chrome Web Store

   • Go to the Keak extension page

2. Add to Chrome

   • Click the "Add to Chrome" button on the extension page

3. Confirm Installation

   • Click "Add extension" in the popup to confirm

4. Find the Icon

   • The Keak icon will appear in your browser toolbar

5. Pin for Easy Access

   • Click the extensions icon (puzzle piece)
   • Pin Keak to your toolbar for quick access

After Installation

Once the extension is installed:

• Sign in to your Keak account (or create one if you don't have one)
• Navigate to any website where you want to run A/B tests
• Click the Keak extension icon to start creating tests

Using the Extension

After installation and sign-in:

1. Navigate to the website you want to test
2. Click the Keak extension icon in your toolbar
3. Choose Manual Selection or Full-Page Scan
4. Create your variations
5. Launch your test

Browser Compatibility

The Keak extension works with:

• Google Chrome (recommended)
• Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)
• Brave Browser
• Other Chromium-based browsers

Note: Safari and Firefox are not currently supported.

Permissions

The extension requires these permissions to function:

• Access to websites: To modify elements for testing
• Storage: To save your test configurations
• Notifications: To alert you about test status

We never access or store sensitive personal information.

Troubleshooting

Extension not showing up?

• Check if it's hidden in the extensions menu (puzzle piece icon)
• Make sure you're using a Chromium-based browser
• Try refreshing the page and clicking the extension icon again
• Restart your browser if needed

Can't sign in?

• Make sure you have a Keak account (sign up at keak.com)
• Check your internet connection
• Try disabling other extensions temporarily
• Clear your browser cache and try again

Extension not working on a page?

• Some websites may block extensions
• Try refreshing the page
• Check browser console for error messages
• Ensure the page has fully loaded

Elements not selectable?

• Try clicking the element again
• Refresh the page and reopen the extension
• Check if the element is inside an iframe (not supported)
• Some dynamically loaded elements may require a page refresh
